Learning in Lockdown

By 19th February 2021No Comments

Lockdown is hard, especially when we’re forced to spend 95% of our time indoors with an often-limited list of things to do.

This is why I’m excited to tell you all about Locally Led learning, a project run by our new friends at Cornwall Adult Education which aims to supporting adults aged 19 years and above, who are unemployed or on benefits, to build confidence, self-esteem and skills.

It’s perfect for people searching for something new and different to do during lockdown with like-minded people.

Locally Led Learning is a project that has been funded by the European Social Fund and focuses on areas of deprivation within Cornwall. Like so many, the team are currently working from home, keeping in touch, but delivering sessions and activities online. The courses on offer are wide ranging from arts and crafts, to music, IT skills to animal welfare. The teaching team are also open to ideas from those who sign up. If they have the skills, they will certainly do their best to deliver courses that are fun and interesting.

Alongside this, they are also offering support through these difficult times and as soon as they are able, they’ll be back to face-to-face contact and delivering sessions in local venues.

If you are interested in finding out about the project for yourself, a relative or a friend, you can text your name and postcode to 07837 311 681 or follow their enquiry link here
